U.S.-based Fundamental Analytics Carbon Services (FACS) is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement with BGDxCarbon, a company established by the Belgrade Stock Exchange (BGDX), to support Serbian exporters in understanding and preparing for the information, emissions-data and verification requirements arising from the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
As CBAM increasingly affects non-EU, export-oriented industries, BGDxCarbon has selected FACS as a specialized, exclusive partner to help companies in CBAM-affected sectors measure and manage their emissions exposure, assess potential carbon-related costs, and prepare for the evolving requirements associated with access to the EU market.
Under the agreement, FACS will provide BGDxCarbon with its specialized carbon-market platform, through licensed third-party brokers and market infrastructure providers, to venues including Aither, ICE and EEX, without hidden mark-ups, together with third-party brokerage, execution and delivery arrangements to an EU custodian for EUA hedging purposes. The platform is designed as an integrated solution combining emissions-data management, compliance analytics, cost assessment and facilitated access to carbon-market instruments relevant to CBAM.
The platform is intended to provide Serbian exporters with greater transparency over their potential CBAM exposure and the carbon-related costs associated with their exports to the EU. A transparent fee structure and a clear audit trail of the inputs, methodologies and assumptions used in emissions and cost calculations are designed to provide companies with a practical framework for informed decision-making and financial planning.
Through the FACS-powered platform, BGDxCarbon will provide market infrastructure and access capabilities supporting the management and trading of relevant carbon-market instruments.
The collaboration is designed to help Serbian companies move from reactive compliance planning toward a more structured approach to carbon management—enabling exporters to better understand their exposure, anticipate potential costs and incorporate carbon considerations into their commercial and financial planning.
Importantly, CBAM places the formal declaration and certificate obligations on EU importers and other authorized CBAM declarants. For exporters and producers outside the EU, however, the availability of accurate emissions data and supporting documentation is critical to the CBAM process and can have a direct bearing on the carbon-related costs associated with their products entering the EU market. BGDxCarbon and FACS aim to provide Serbian companies with the tools and market access needed through licensed third-party brokers and market infrastructure providers to address these requirements effectively.
FACS brings more than 40 years of collective experience in carbon markets, combining market expertise, technology and a personalized service model. Through a single point of accountability, the collaboration will provide Serbian exporters with access to specialized carbon-market knowledge, compliance tools and market infrastructure tailored to their individual exposure and business needs.
